“Chinese MAD Competition”is a volunteer and charitable event organized by a group of Chinese MAD enthusiasts. "You can also open your Zhiyuanhui app to participate in our Chinese MAD Cultural Festival activities (just kidding)."
This event is dedicated to expressing our love for MAD through the Chinese language, conveying artistic vision through lyrics, and giving voice to our innermost thoughts through melody. Through production, judging, and exchange, we aim to appreciate Chinese-language MAD works from a fresh perspective, pay tribute to the Chinese language, and showcase its charm!
The 2024 Chinese MAD Competition (CMC) is jointly organized by NNZ_studio, 登月计划Mad-Project, InFinite_Team, and STL_CLUB. Hosted by 若亲 and 彩虹, with assistance from 小马 and 女巫.
- Production Period: October 20th 12:00 - February 20th 12:00 (UTC+08:00) (Submission counts as registration)
- Judges' Scoring::February 25th - March 5th (2025)
- Entries Release: March 10th - March 16th (2025)
Apart from the production period, the final timeline mentioned above may be adjusted flexibly based on the number of submissions.

Contest Rules:
The Chinese MAD Competition is divided into three tracks.
Chinese Traditional Track:
Participants can choose any Chinese-language piece, with no restrictions on style. Cantonese, Tibetan, and any other Chinese ethnic languages are also allowed.
For the traditional track, Chinese lyrics must comprise at least 70% of the entire song. Non-Chinese songs will be subject to preliminary review for approval.
The video length for this track must be at least 1 minute and 30 seconds.

Chinese Still Image Track:
Participants can choose any Chinese-language piece, with no restrictions on style. Cantonese, Tibetan, and other Chinese ethnic languages are all allowed. For traditional still-image track MMVs (manga/music videos), Chinese lyrics must comprise at least 70% of the entire song. Non-Chinese songs will be subject to preliminary review for approval.
Videos in this category must be at least 1 minute and 30 seconds in duration. (Note: If there are too few entries in the Static category, they may be merged into the Traditional category)

Chinese Style Track:
Participants can choose any Chinese-language piece, with no restrictions on style. Cantonese, Tibetan, and any other Chinese ethnic languages are also allowed.
1. Animation Style Track: Limited to works in styles such as IG, MG, FX, VFX, PV, etc.
2. Still Image Style Track: Includes manga, illustrations, and character art-style still MADs. This involves creating stylized rhythm, shot compositions, layouts, and incorporating various elements into still MAD productions.
For the Style Track, Chinese lyrics must comprise at least 70% of the entire song. Non-Chinese songs will be subject to preliminary review for approval.
Videos in this category must be at least 30 seconds in duration. (PS: If there are insufficient entries in the Style category, Style Award nominations will instead be selected from Traditional category entries)

Competition Prizes:
Top Award: 3 or 6 winners total (CMC merchandise + ranking bonuses of 500/300/100 RMB + customized CMC music box).
Golden List Award: 3 winners total (CMC merchandise + 100 RMB per winner + customized CMC music box).
Finalist Award: CMC commemorative merchandise (CMC official merchandise). *Please note the production cycle for merchandise rewards may be lengthy*
(There may also be other raffle prizes, such as figurines or other physical gifts.)
Total Prize Pool: Approximately 6000 CNY
Zhuangyuan Award Details:
The Zhuangyuan Award will be given to the highest-scoring participant from the Chinese Traditional Track and the top three highest-scoring participants from the Chinese Still Image Track. If there is a large number of submissions for the Chinese Still Image Track, a separate prize pool will be established, with the evaluation method and prize distribution being consistent with those for the combined tracks. Aside from those winning the Zhuangyuan Award, no ranking of participants' scores will be provided.
Jinbang Award Details:
Stylized Nomination Award (Selected by 12 final judges' scores + organizer evaluations in the Style category, with 3 or 6 winners determined by the number of entries in this category)
Nomination Award Details:
Selected nominees will each receive a 2024 Chinese MAD Cultural Festival merchandise set (including a 2024 Chinese Festival commemorative booklet and a character art keychain). The nominated submissions will be announced at the Chinese MAD Cultural Festival. Please stay tuned.
Any additional funds or prizes will be announced in the group at the earliest opportunity.
Submission Requirements:
1. Looping is strictly prohibited for any track submission.
2. If the submission file size exceeds 500MB, please compress it to keep the size within 500MB.
3. For this competition, participants may use any approved materials (unapproved content must be censored), including anime, manga, game CG and other 2D content; movies, MVs and other non-2D content, but live-action content cannot exceed 10% of the total video duration.
4. Publicly released works are not accepted, and the same submission cannot be used to participate in multiple competitions. Please do not disclose your submission before the announcement of the shortlisted results. After the results are announced, non-shortlisted works can be made public, while shortlisted works must wait until after the release of the compilation before being made public.
5. When submitting your entry, please add your video, cover (in PNG or JPG format), and any messages (in a text file) to a compressed RAR folder.

- For collaborative entries by two participants, name the compressed file as: 【Chinese Traditional Category/Chinese Stylized Category/Chinese Static Category】- 【ID1&ID2】- 【Your Work Title】.
- For multi-person collaborative MEP entries, name the compressed file as: (MEP)【Chinese Traditional Category/Chinese Stylized Category/Chinese Static Category】- 【Team Name/Organizer ID】- 【Your Work Title】, with detailed collaborator list included as a text document within the compressed folder.

Notice:
1. Each participant may submit up to two entries, but can only receive one nomination award. Submissions to personal platforms must wait until after the competition results are announced; otherwise, they will not be officially recognized.
2. Mashup works, content with offensive humor, vulgarity, gore, works that fail Bilibili review, anti-social or anti-humanity themes, obvious imitations, and clearly unfinished works will be prohibited from participating in the competition.
3. This competition accepts dual collaborations and multi-person collaborative MEPs. For multi-person MEPs in the Chinese Style Track, the duration must be at least 1 minute and 30 seconds (each collaborator's ID must be listed in a text file upon submission).
4. Submissions from staff members, including judges and organizers, are accepted and eligible for awards. During scoring, a judge will not evaluate their own submission.
5. All participants in the 2024 Chinese MAD Cultural Festival must include the competition logo at any point in their submission in any form. The logo will be shared in the competition group and may be modified as needed.
P.S.: The logo is the new 2024 Chinese MAD Competition logo. Please make sure not to use logos from previous years.

Before the submission deadline for the 2024 Chinese MAD Competition, only individual sponsorships are accepted. Sponsorship must be no less than "one 伯".
