Red & White MAD Contest Postponement Announcement
Hello everyone, due to the current sensitivity of the political climate, the school has suspended all entertainment activities involving Japanese culture, including Red & White MAD Contest and our school's Winter Festival. To ensure compliance and maintain a good experience for all participants, after careful discussion by the Red & White MAD Contest Event Group, the Red & White MAD Contest originally scheduled for Dec. 14, 2025 has been forced to be postponed. We sincerely apologize for this unexpected situation and express our deepest apologies to every participant who has been looking forward to the event.
The event group will continue to push forward with preparations and confirm the new event date and related arrangements as soon as possible (currently tentatively Mar. 28, 2026). We will inform everyone in the group at the earliest possible time once it is finalized.
Thank you all for your understanding, patience, and support. We look forward to meeting everyone smoothly in the near future. Wishing you all a pleasant life and happiness every day.

Ps Some of you may have questions:
Why is the contest postponed but entries still can’t be publicly uploaded to streaming platforms? Because Red & White MAD Contest is an offline event, and we want to preserve a sense of anticipation and enhance the on-site experience as much as possible. We sincerely apologize for this. (But the mep and performance groups may publish in advance!)

Hello everyone, this is 蓬萊電機 MAD TEAM from the Technology Department of the Maracle Anime Club at Southwest Jiaotong University!
Since 2018, we have successfully held three Chengdu College Contests. The exciting moments of the last offline contest are still vivid in our minds. We are truly grateful for the wholehearted support and active participation of many seniors from various universities and organizations, and the friendly atmosphere has deeply moved us. In the blink of an eye, the summer of 2025 has arrived. After actively listening to everyone’s suggestions and drawing on the experience of previous years, we hereby announce that the 4th Chengdu College MAD Contest and 蓬萊電機 The 29th Red & White MAD Contest are officially underway!
This 4th Chengdu College MAD Contest and 蓬萊電機 The 29th Red & White MAD Contest is organized by 蓬莱电机 MAD TEAM (the original official account has been transferred to this account, original official account: 蓬萊電機), co-organized by HOVER-MAD-TEAM, inviting the animation clubs of universities in the Sichuan-Chongqing region including Chengdu University of Technology, Chengdu University of Information Technology, Chengdu Medical College, Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Southwest Petroleum University, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Sichuan University, and Civil Aviation Flight University of China to participate. This contest is open to all current students and graduates of universities in the Sichuan-Chongqing region, as well as all MADers who can attend in person. It aims to create a positive and friendly MAD exchange opportunity for MAD enthusiasts and to promote offline communication among MADers in Chengdu as well as the development of new talent in colleges.
The Red & White MAD Contest was originally an offline MAD contest held by 蓬莱电机 MAD TEAM at Southwest Jiaotong University in 2011. Up to now, it has been held 28 times and has a long history. We always adhere to the principle of participation first and encourage newcomers to create. No matter which university you come from or how much experience you have in MAD production, as long as you are passionate about MAD creation, we look forward to receiving your works to spark more diverse creative ideas through inspiration.
Contest Rules
To increase the fun and flexibility of the Red & White MAD Contest, we have made the following changes to the competition system.
This 4th Chengdu College MAD Contest adopts a solo qualifying system. All qualifying entries will be divided into the Red Group and the White Group, and will be played offline by group. At the same time, there will be solo rounds based on the groups, and the winners of the solo rounds will be decided by on-site audience voting. The solo winner will earn 1 point for their group. After the contest, we will tally the scores of the Red Group and the White Group and award small prizes to the group with the higher score.
There are two distribution modes for solo:
1. Once a contestant qualifies, they can freely choose an opponent for the SOLO. After both parties agree, they report it to the organizers.
2. Contestants who do not choose an opponent will be randomly paired by the organizers (Note: When randomly selecting opponents, the organizers will try to assign similar types of works to the same group, for example: AMV vs. AMV, still image vs. still image, but due to differences in the number of entries in each category, some matchups between different types may occur).
Note: Solo results do not affect the final score; the final score is determined solely by the judges.
Because the Chengdu College MAD Contest is an offline contest with time limitations, we have set the number of qualifying entries for offline screening to around 25 entries (this number may fluctuate based on the total duration of all entries). After the submission deadline, we will conduct an initial online screening to select the entries for offline playback. If the total number of entries is insufficient, all entries will qualify.
After the submission deadline, we will select 1 first prize winner, 2 second prize winners, and 3 third prize winners based on the judges’ scores. At the same time, we will also award four special prizes: Best Newcomer Award, Best Fun Award, Best Arrangement Award, and Best Visuals Award.
The final interpretation of scores and awards belongs to the organizing committee of the Red & White MAD Contest.

1. Format Requirements: Submission resolution must be no lower than 720p and no higher than 4K. There are no restrictions on the frame rate, and the format must be MP4.
2.Works that have been publicly released before the offline screening are not accepted, except for MEPs. Multiple submissions of the same work are not allowed, and works involving political, provocative, or other sensitive topics are prohibited.

5. Please note: This contest is open to current students and graduates of major universities in Chengdu as well as MADers who can attend the contest in person.
6. Due to considerations regarding awards and the event, all participants are generally required to attend in person. If the author cannot attend due to scheduling or other reasons, they must arrange for a proxy to receive the award on their behalf. All prizes will be distributed on site.
7. Submission Duration: Considering the time constraints for the offline viewing, all submissions must be between 40 seconds and 6 minutes. Works that do not meet the minimum duration requirement or exceed the maximum duration will not be nominated.
8. Each participant is limited to a maximum of two entries, and the final result will be based on the highest-scoring work. Submissions from judges are accepted, but judges’ works and MEP entries will not be ranked or scored.
9.Entries can only be submitted after the offline screening ends. When submitting, please include the tag #红白MAD合战# or the Red & White MAD Contest tag.
It needs to be emphasized again that this contest is not a competitive contest. We uphold the philosophy of "friendship first, contest second," aiming to promote mutual exchange and encourage newcomers, creating a harmonious and friendly MAD community. Everyone can enjoy gathering offline to watch MAD together, so we hope everyone communicates kindly and friendly, and refrains from excessive disputes over prizes and rankings, as that goes against our original intention.
This contest is more oriented toward newcomers, and all new creators are welcome to actively submit their works. All submitted works, whether they qualify or not, can receive at least one brief comment and suggestion from a judge. We hope everyone submits enthusiastically!
