The 11th Nanjing University MAD Competition Is Now Officially Open
The Nanjing MAD competition has been held for ten years. Originally organized by the Liuhuo Anime Club of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, it is now hosted by the Nanjing University MAD Research Group. We hope everyone enjoys participating and has a great time!
The competition is not limited to the Nanjing region; all MAD creators (Maders) are welcome to participate.
This competition has no category divisions, and submissions will be judged based on their overall performance score.
Main Rules
- Submitted works must comply with Bilibili's animation category submission standards. Submissions involving violence, pornography, antisocial or anti-human content are strictly prohibited, as are those involving sensitive political topics. Any violation will result in the disqualification of all entries from the contestant.
- For animated works, video edits, and GMVs, the duration should be between 45 seconds and 10 minutes. For still-image/PV submissions, the duration must be longer than 30 seconds. Loops are prohibited, as well as theft and plagiarism. There are no restrictions on style, but imitations are not accepted.
- The competition allows multiple submissions from one participant, with the final award being based on the best submission result.
- All submissions are non-anonymous and will go through a nomination and ranking round. The number of nominations will be determined based on the total number of submissions and their overall quality, selecting 60%-70% of the total entries (depending on quality and quantity). Nominated works will be scored by judges, and final rankings will be determined based on reasonable criteria.
- After the submission deadline has passed, the list of finalists will be announced a few days later. The final rankings and the winners of the various individual awards will be announced within one week of the list’s publication.
Please do not publish your submissions before the shortlist is announced. After the shortlist is announced, submissions that were not selected may be published; shortlisted submissions may only be published after the anthology of shortlisted works is released.The 25th Nankao has changed its submission policy to "submit and publish immediately." We welcome all creators who love MAD to participate!!! - The resolution for submissions must be at least 720P and up to 4K. There are no frame rate restrictions, but the bitrate must be controlled within 15,000 kbps. The submissions should be in H.264 encoded MP4 format (4K resolution supports a maximum frame rate of 60fps or lower).

Name your submission file and compressed folder as 【Creator Name】– Work Title, for example: 【凉鸢Mivuskite】– JELEE. If it is a collaborative work, please use 【Group Name】– Work Title as the naming format. Additionally, include a TXT file in the email that specifies the Bilibili ID and UID of the creator. For collaborative works, please also list all participating members.
Exhibition Match
An exhibition match featuring internal submissions from the organizer, Nanjing University MAD Project (hereinafter referred to as NUMP), will be held a few days before the official release of the shortlisted entries.
※ All entries in the exhibition match are submitted by NUMP members, including both non-shortlisted and shortlisted works.
※ The exhibition match follows a head-to-head format, with two teams: Team "Iris" and Team "Citrus". Each day, one work from each team will go head-to-head, and the audience will vote to decide the winner.
※ The exhibition match offers no prizes — it’s all about fun and enjoyment.
※ Participants who voluntarily join the exhibition match may choose which team they wish to join.

Individual Award
Best Still Image, Best Creativity, Best Atmosphere, Best Emotion, Best Storyline, Best Sound Design, Best Action, and Best Newcomer: 50 RMB each.
(If there are no suitable submissions, the respective awards will be canceled. The Best Newcomer award will only be granted from the nominated works, and the creator must have started making their first MAD less than six months before the submission deadline. The organizer will gather eligible participants who meet this criterion in the competition group.)

15~30 RMB, depending on the circumstances.
